

An eastbound freight led by an FP7 and RS18s passes through Onawa
just before crossing the large trestle over Ship Pond Stream.

A westbound pulled by an RS18, an RS3, and a leased Bessemer and
Lake Erie F7B unit departs Jackman for the wilderness between
there and Megantic, Ouebec. The first car in the train is a steel
boxcar which has been converted into a stock car by the CPR.

The westbound Scoot pulled by RS2 1802 stops to set out some
maintance of way cars at a remote siding between Brownville
Junction and Greenville.

The eastbound Scoot prepares for it's early morning departure for
Brownville Junction from the station at Megantic, Province of
Quebec.

Canadian Pacifics then new GP35s like 8212 shown here in Quebec
City were rarely if every seen in Maine during the 1960s. These
units were regulars however during the 1970s although by then
most were painted in the red multimark scheme.

An eastbound Scoot on it's way back to Maine climbs toward the
United States/Canadian border and summit of the grade at
Boundary.

A late winter afternoon view from the rear of the westbound Scoot
at Holeb shows an approaching freight which will pull up directly
behind our train in order to let a third opposing train pass in
the siding. Winter was a busy time on the CPR lines in Maine!

drifts down grade into Brownville Junction with brake smoke
rising in the distance.

An eastbound freight with two RS18s departs Brownville Junction
yard for Mattawamkeag and McAdam, New Brunswick.

By the mid 1970's the colors at Brownville Junction have changed
from maroon and gray to Action Red and Yellow as displayed by
this RS18 and 434000 series van.

During the late 1970s the trains across Maine were fewer but
longer as shown by this westbound which has just arrived in the
rain at Brownville Junction powered by a MILW C424, 3 MILW RS10s,
a GMD F7B, and a MILW RS23.
